World of Warcraft Classic. You start as a no one. Everybody around you seems to know what to do. Your items are shit. You look like a peasant. The silliest enemies force you to rest and are able to kill you.
It‘s challenging but so rewarding. It makes you feel grateful for every single lvlup, item and skill you can get.
Even after spending literal days of your life, there always will be people who are better than you. Everything is said and done. Still this game manages to pull me back in from time to time. It’s so much fun.
I see a pattern of games mentioned here! What do you call games like theme hospital? I’d love to skim a few recommendations for these kind of games that let you hire different employees to run parts of your business.
In Germany some schools offer exactly that in day schoolGanztagsschule.
In theory students get time to do homework in a dedicated hour and the last hours are filled with extracurricular activities.
But often times teachers assign too much homework and there‘s always at least one day when you have maths other sth else in the late afternoon, what‘s hell for everyone involved.
I wouldn‘t send my children there, but there are families who are thankful for this system and children who are capable to live an 8-4 day.
Sounds great, thanks!
Awesome suggestions, thank you.
Lord, what have you done
Your suggestions are great, thank you! What’s still missing is a game that let’s you hire people with different skills and watch them do their stuff (Theme Hospital, maybe? There have to be better examples nowadays!)
A close example could be Game Dev Tycoon I played for a while. But unfortunately you really had to micromanage every step.
Cool, thank you so much! DF is on my list but the graphics … 😅
FTL is so insanely good!
The IPCC report is what you‘re looking for! And since it‘s it‘s almost impossible to even reach the goal of 1,5 degrees, we should hit the breaks better sooner than later. It‘s not an „oopsie“ problem we would face otherwise. People are already dying.
Around 4 times a year I get a whole weekend for myself. Sometimes I don’t even tell any friends that I’m alone at home. Oh boy. As a father of two, these weekends are better than anything else.
(Sorry, English is not my first language)
If I understand you correctly you criticize my usage of the word existential, bc it implies that the climate catastrophe will kill all humans? If yes, then I have to correct myself. While this could be a possible outcome, it’s not based on actual research.
People are already dying because of the heat or starving because of droughts and water scarcity. Based on the IPCC report it will become even worse, especially of we don’t manage to avoid the tipping points of the climate crisis in the next few years.
Ts… remaster. What a cash grab. This game’s brand new…
looks up release date
fuck. That makes me…
calculates age
fuck.
Friendly reminder that it’s not about denial anymore. It’s about how urgent is the existential threat of tipping points and how radical and fast should we act.
One side says, let’s stay reasonable, let’s not hurt the economy, don’t panic because of the these crazy Greta maniacs. Source: We managed a lot of crisis in the past, sometimes it’s not that hot, lobby money.
The other side says we have to hit the breaks immediately or a lot of people are going to die. Source: Science.
The game offers a short tutorial and an AI mode. There you can get familiar with the first heroes that are available to you and the maps. Find a character you like and mess around with his abilities and skill trees. You have all the time in the world.
It‘s considered a beginner friendly MOBA. You have your standard attack, 2-4 special abilities and an heroic attack at level 10 (20 is the max level).
As soon as you feel ready to play competitively, there are several game modes available for you.
Since it’s free just give it a try. Becoming good in this game is part of the journey!
Does the good ol notpron-riddle count? I don‘t know, if it‘s solvable on mobile devices.
Heroes of the Storm! Pick one out of over 80 heroes to fulfill your role in a team of 5 and try to destroy the other team‘s core.
Blizzard‘s take on the MOBA genre is something I come back to from time to time.
The character and map design is awesome and one match allows you to level up your character to counter enemy strategies and be become the kind of healer/tank/mage/dps/supporter your team needs.
It‘s awesome. And free.
The ABCDEF-model works great for a lot of people.
