I didn’t see anyone claiming otherwise. Still, I would bet money that polarized/partisan voting is a much bigger issue with Republican voters.
This is the larger problem, in a nutshell. The fact that we have nations being led by people who believe in their own fairy tales, so much that they believe everybody else is inferior. This isn’t just a problem in Israel/Palestine, obviously, but having two of these groups so close to each other really puts a magnifying glass on the danger of non-secular governments. Israel literally believes it has the support of God itself, and its a powerful fuel to their genocide.
I think if we are to survive as a species, one of the humps we need to get over is the existence of all these fairy tales, and the division they create. The fairy tales may have been useful at one point in history, but they have long overstayed their welcome.
I mean, if both are killing innocents, but one is killing innocents on top of being racist, it’s pretty obvious that the racist one is worse. A kindergartener could check that math.
The problem is people who have the perspective that you vote against the worst candidate rather than for the best one, in my opinion.
Have you somehow not heard of “first past the post”? The people who have that perspective, with regard to the US presidential race, have the correct perspective.
Third party votes don’t matter in FPTP. Until that changes, a vote for third party works in the Republican candidates favor, thanks to FPTP, plus the electoral college.
Pussy-pooped is definitely my word of the day now. Appreciate you spreading the good word.
Thankfully, he’s a golden lab and not a chocolate lab, or it would’ve happened already.
Those kind of bomb sniffing dogs and cadaver sniffing dogs are morally acceptable, to me, personally.
The drug sniffing dogs aren’t, not necessarily because its cruel to the animals, but because they have been shown to not be 100 percent reliable, and are commonly used by the police to abuse peoples’ rights, as a tool to hide racial profiling, etc.
On the other hand, the police dogs that are trained and employed to bite people are an example of the extreme cruelty of humans, both towards animals and each other.
I think you misunderstand how money is made off of these kind of things. Companies like TikTok, and YouTube make money by showing you ads and collecting data on you to sell.
A federated app, like this one we are talking about, is ad free, open source, and does not collect data on it’s users for resale. Video hosting costs a lot of money, so unless users are willing to donate to keep it up and running, it will quickly run out of server space to host videos.
I appreciate the respect and I can assure you that it is mutual. I can completely understand where you are coming from, and your stance. “Harm reduction”, is a good way to put it, because that’s all it really feels like. It doesn’t feel good to feign support for a regime that supports such atrocities, but here I am thanks to our joke of a system.
I agree, and it’s complete bullshit.
But I’m going to vote for “genocide and some safety for my Trans and female friends” over “more genocide, gay bashing, and forced birthing”. It’s our only two choices until there is either a change in the voting system, or better yet, a revolution.
Lawyers will be honest or dishonest, just depending on what’s best for the person who is paying them. Their jobs are dependent on getting good outcomes for their clients, so they can most definitely be trusted if you are the one paying them.
I see now. I think I was confused because it looked like you replied to the comment that you were agreeing with, but you were referring to the comment above that one as the .ml account. My bad.
That’s funny, I constantly hear people complaining about the opposite sentiment from the .ml community. It’s a very common complaint around Lemmy that the ‘tankies’ from .ml defend Russia. So, it’s weird to hear someone say that saying negative things about Russia is somehow ‘.ml behavior’.
If you want transportation with fire, ride a dragon.
Username checks out. I see you everywhere, and your comments often make me happy.
I definitely agree with you that cars are terrible, and I wish they didn’t exist. Even though I’m a hater, I gotta admit the engineering and history behind them fascinates me, still.
When you break it down, yeeting a small piece of metal, accurately, up to a mile, through the use of handheld controlled explosions, is way cooler than just yeeting a pointy stick with another stick and a string. So, I am inclined to agree with you.
From an engineering standpoint, firearms are so much more fascinating.
Yea, I’m a millenial, and I remember mostly only interacting with old Macintosh LCs in elementary school, and then Windows 95 and up after that. My uncle had an old Tandy computer running DOS, that I remember at least learning how to run a game on, but by the time I was interacting with a computer, regularly, Windows 95 and AOL were the most common thing.
Usenet is awesome, but the fact that you have to pay for Usenet access defeats the main purpose of pirating for a lot of people.
Don’t get me wrong, it is super cheap(60$-100$/year?) and worth it to pay for Usenet from what I understand, but as a poor kid that discovered torrenting out of necessity, paying for Usenet back then would’ve been out of the question. I imagine a lot of Gen Z kids feel the same about it at this point in their lives.
Well then, let the pitchforks come out. What a huge piece of shit. Glad he’s being charged, and hopefully the sentence isn’t too light.
Really appreciate the update!
Dude, you don’t know any of these people or what they do IRL. To go off like this for no reason is just some insane people stuff. Get some help, and get off social media if it makes you so upset that you create little stories in your mind of what people do or don’t do with their lives.
