  • I am gainfully employed but keep an eye on what’s available in the US just to see what opportunities are out there. I started seeing some insane salaries and so checked the offers out. Five minutes of research shows that even with the highest salary , there is literally no place to live. Neither rent nor purchase. Because it’s a service like Indeed, I don’t see a way to contact the job poster directly and see if they are even aware this is an issue. Many of the postings are around one month old.

You mentioned nursing, here in the US, hospitals have been pared back to mostly large urban areas. This caused my brain to hurt.

Cheers and luck, I hope y’all don’t end up renting in old age!

  • I wasn’t serious when I said I’d fall in line behind you. Emojis on are a world wide phenomenon. If it doesn’t appeal to you then move on. Are you this controlling and intolerant irl? Or are you just petty online? Since you seem to lack social nuance, I’ll be clear, I don’t really care by asking these questions. I am asking you to ask yourself. Pettiness and coercion are also a social cancer

  • This is exactly what I’ve encountered. I only opened Indeed to see what ppl in my profession are being offered in other places. Places with affordable houses. I’m worried my living situation will become a problem in the area I live, it’s only getting higher.

Like you, I find employers are completely unaware of this and aren’t offering enough.

They are also asking for more qualifications than they are willing to pay for, so far I’ll bide my time.

The other annoyance is I can’t ask for any feedback on why my application was passed over.
