I’m okay with that. I don’t want some program I don’t control having access to the kernel of my system.

Breaking news, people on the Internet have no concept of nuance.
At this point Everything Search is goated.
Yes and no. The theory is that each instance is supposed to be more specialized, kind of like the old BBS that used to be rampant on the internet. If you are moving to an instance just because people disagree with you instead to have more discussion over a specific topic that is not really in line with the purpose of the fediverse.
I mean, they’re the biggest instance, of course there is going to be circle jerking, but it also has more dissenting voices to push back against people who are just plain wrong.
So demure so mindful.
Kind of. I’ve never bothered with them myself because it requires constant use and is kind of more trouble than it’s worth. It’s the same concept as something like Ginko Biloba in that it does have benefits, but different people will see different results based on their own body chemistry so the results you see will vary from person to person.
I feel like you are taking this way more personally than it’s intended. Most companies write stuff like this so the government can’t sue them. Basically, Microsoft is just covering their own ass.
It’s basically a chicken and egg problem. We don’t leave because they are there, and they don’t leave because we are there. I would, and have already, happily go to alternate platforms. The main problem now is that nobody seems to agree on what the better platform would be.
I just want to remind people that a liberal is NOT the same as a leftist, and that liberal can mean different things politically based on which part of the world you live in. That being said, I love that rich privileged people are fighting each other. There’s nothing more hilarious than the rich trying to eat themselves.
It was so bad Nilay Patel had to apologize (semi-seriously) about causing a news cycle about a mouse.
The new CEO had the beginning of an idea in an interview. The interviewer tried to push back while still keeping the interview going, but it became messy real quick.
I am also still excited, but I can’t bring myself to let my excitement over take me. I didn’t vote for a president until Obama, and I was in my late 20s early 30s at that point. I say this for transparency because I’ve never liked voting for the “lesser of two evils”. I voted for Obama because it was historic, but also because I thought long and hard and realized that not voting would hurt the chances of anything changing for the better. The worse things get the harder it is to make it better. Like a dirty house that doesn’t seem worth cleaning eventually there is trash everywhere and the only answer is to either move out or demolish the house. I’m too old and poor for either of those options now. So my choice is to do what I can to maintain the house long enough for younger generations to do what I couldn’t.
I realize that this may be an unrealistic pipe dream, but I have faith that younger generations can do it. We just have to not let the fascists win.
I also only found him recently because I normally don’t go to YouTube for that kind of content. He just popped up in my feed one day because of a video about Drake (side note, Kendrick vs. Drake ruined the feed I had going, lol) and I’ve been a fan since then. I have actually contemplated getting Nebula just to get similar content that isn’t controlled by big brother Google.
While I do agree I also want to make it clear I’m not expecting a revolution if Kamala is elected. I’m excited for the chance to get off the back foot and hope our country can start making progress again. It may be cynical, but I pretty much expect second term Obama again.
For more information on what I’m talking about check out FD Signifier’s video about Kamala. I don’t agree with everything he said, but he has good points.
Yeah, but only when it’s convenient. Like what the MAGA ass hats are saying about Kamala.
Man, that’s the only part I miss from being in the military. That shit was everywhere, and it came in clutch towards the end of the month.
Good people on both sides.
The worst part is that almost everyone was telling the DNC it was the wrong call, and they ignored people out of fear that they would lose. I fucking hate the DNC, but I hate the RNC more.
The fact that anyone can insult Dolly Parton immediately shows you their true character.
