I’m actually genuinely interested as to why you use them.

Yeah same here in NL
So my team lead ordered a bottle of a particularly nasty chemical (don’t remember what, this was long ago) Thing is, he went on holiday immediately after and didn’t tell anyone about it. The bottle had to be shipped and kept at -20℃ otherwise it would decompose into a deadly gas; one of those lovely CMR types. So next thing that happens is, I get called on my day off by the boss saying that there is a scary box in the lab and if I could check it out. I was reluctant but I figure I’ll check it out. I though to myself that it was a little unusual that they would ship it in a styrofoam box without any dry ice (it had evaporated) so I take out a slightly bloated bottle which seems to be filled with some liquid. I then tear of the package label and read the MSDS. At this point I read all the scary labels and realize that this thing has been out here for a while, all the dry ice has evaporated, the bottle is bloated and filled with gas which I am sitting right next to. So I turn on ventilation and GTFO. I inform the boss who immeditally got his home freezer to cool it down. I meanwhile started to notice a stinging in my eyes (which was one of the effects) We wash out my eyes, stinging goes away, lungs are fine and everything ends without injury.
TLDR
Coworker orders deadly chemicals, goes on holiday, doesn’t tell anyone, almost kills me.
Yes is the best answer. They got a lot of votes from the Jury, because the song is musically one of the more impressive ones (subjective ofc). But, the audience also gets to vote, and can vote for whatever reason. Like: best song, nationalistic reasons, most catchy song?, identity reasons, Song of an artist that makes a statement. Similarly the jury is not immune to these thing so there is no such thing as a subjective vote for best song. So… Yes
honest question. Why would you pretend?
I used messageease for a month or so but was unable to improve :/ https://www.exideas.com/ME/index.php
It depends on the definition I guess. I would consider driving a car to be multitasking. But doing three different office tasks on my laptop feels more like context switching as someone dubbed it here.
But I’m just some dude it’s not like I’ve read any papers on it but that’s what it feels like for me.
Wow that is awesome. When I need a washing machine I’ll check them out!
I am pretty sure that modern archeology agrees with you in at least some ways (know an archeologist, not an archeologist). I don’t have any specific evidence for mammoth trapping but there are these really interesting stone funnel traps that were used to trap gazelle herds https://tywkiwdbi.blogspot.com/2011/04/ancient-gazelle-killing-zones.html
Also consider how long humans have walked the earth as hunter gatherers. Agriculture goes back to around 10.000 BCE. The entirety of time between 300.000 BCE and 10.000 BCE was likely (mostly) spent as hunter gatherers. Imagine in how many ways local roles and culture could have differed in that time!
Don’t you think that this “men are here to be practical” theory has some gaps? Like there are plenty of men who do the things that you describe as unnecessary
I’m not saying that barns should be sweeped or that everyone should cook fancy meals. But to say that people who do do that are (as you seem to be implying) overdoing it, or impractical is a bit unfair I think. I am also quite practical but still respect that others have higher standards or just “want things their way” which should be at least a little relatable to everyone.
Seize the means of computation people!
That was a tough read in both ways.
I used to do a ton with Processing and P5. This guy https://www.youtube.com/@TheCodingTrain did wonders for my skill and enjoyment a few years ago. I owe him a lot
Eyyyyy high five. Any good or bad stories or something to recommend? I will start. I am now the go too person on work for people who have issues with their usb drives. Not matter what, on linux I can always read the filesystem or make their flash drives work again. And people are always super thankful :)
I think angry is good, that helps you pull through. Godspeed!
Did it a little over a year ago. Has been fun thus far, my computer really feels like my device now which it didn’t really do before. Its like when a meal tastes better because you make it yourself. Still have issues once and again ofc but I had that on windows too tbf. Not an OS advisor, not OS advice
Well Chrome(ium) has almost all of the browser market share and google is trying to push something called web environment integrity which would implement a sort of certification system where web servers evaluate the authenticity of the client. If you extrapolate that idea a bit further it boils down to “we won’t serve you content if we don’t like your browser, device, OS, etc”. Which I would consider as hostile to the open but rapidly closing internet as we know it.
Edit: I forgot to make my point lol. Firefox is a completely different browser engine from the chromium based browsers which is why you see a lot of people recommending firefox because they don’t comply with web integrity. I don’t think it’s working though because this is something only the techbros and the cybersisters care about while everyone else just goes about their day.
Jeez that doesn’t look good
What does bitwarden have over keepass?
