Oh, it’s one of my favourite flavors of copium.
Someone starts complaining about some rotting systems and crises or other, libs nod along, then the magical C-word comes up and they’re like “WAIT, NOT LIKE THAT! That’s not how capitalism is supposed to work, that’s bad bad evil bad corporatism. We can fix it with proper legislation an stuff and things!”.
Makes me want to barf
Reminds me of a Georgist on fedi insisting that we don’t have capitalism but neoliberalism, and that actual capitalism is good
I’ve seen some that try to tell people that we currently have “chrony-capitalism” (or some other prefix that some “expert” came up with) perpetuated by a few bad apples up at top. Those are my personal favorite.
