Rikkie Valerie Kolle, the first transgender woman to be crowed Miss Netherlands, once saw her success in the pageant as a symbol of her nation's openness. Then she was bombarded with hate online.

Yup, either they’re bigoted because they didn’t let her compete, or they’re bigoted because she didn’t win. It’s stupid that it’s like this.
