Did I just imagine Sony announcing they were aiming for an R rating?
That might have been for Kraven the Hunter, but I’m also certain that they wanted an R for this.
Looking online it looks like Tom Hardy and others wanted R.
However the first two were PG-13 and these films are all clearly just Sony squeezing for money and PG-13 is the executive safe zone. And I say that as someone who has generally enjoyed the Venom films.
The trailers I’ve for this movie are super weird becauase the audio balance is super low except for the random, out of context, one-liners Venom says and they’re not even, like, good lines. They’re kinda cringe and they turned me off wanting to see it.
